The legendary drummer and co-founder of rock band Cream, Ginger Baker, died after being critically ill in hospital, on Sunday 6 October at the age of 80.
The news of his death was made known via his Twitter account, Ginger Baker. It reads: “We are very sad to say that Ginger has passed away peacefully in hospital this morning. Thank you to everyone for your kind words over the past weeks.”
Ginger Baker was born on August 19, 1939 at Lewisham, London, United Kingdom. He was a drummer and musician who co-founded the rock bank Cream in 1966 with Eric Clapton and Jack Bruce.
